Visiting the World's Faire

Day one of the World's Faire, I attended an art booth from Zooey Nguyen and Javin Pombra. Their eye-catching booth focused on the "New Art" movement; an art form that focused on intricate designs and flowing curves based on natural forms. It was quite amazing to see all the masterpieces from artists such as Alphonse Mucha and Antonio Gaudi. On a more serious note, I visited another booth about Advancement in Vaccines by Akhil Jakatdar and Charlie Hood. Their presentation focused on vaccines and antitoxins, especially the work of Almroth Edward and Emil von Behring. I could hardly believe that diseases, such as tuberculosis and pneumonia, could now be prevented. What a concept!

On the second day, I moved on to inventions, specifically that of the bicycle. Made by Baron Karl Von Drais, this invention claim to be able to replace horses. It is quiet an amazing concept and I hope to see more of them in the future, although that Penny Farthing bicycle could use a few safety precaution. Afterward, since I did not get to the day before, I stopped by the food booth of the Faire. It was perhaps of the most extensive and diverse menu I've ever seen. Hot dogs and popcorn, funnel cakes and Dr. Pepper, ice cream and cotton candy! It was quite a treat for those with a sweet tooth, young and old.
