Today, I explored the streets of Paris, tasting various delicacies and observing scientific devices. It’s amazing what scientists of this day and age can do! The light bulbs I found in one exhibit were both stately and useful. They have the potential to make working at night feasible for everybody and thus improve productivity. Furthermore, I encountered a new device called the gyroscope. Since it’s unaffected by rotation and tilting, it’s very useful for measuring and maintaining orientation, making scientific work so much easier! One piece of technology I still feel uncertain about, though, is the vaccine. It seems so dangerous, but if it works, it would have the potential to save many lives. I certainly wouldn't volunteer to test it, though! My sister’s favorite device was the electric iron. She loved its potential uses. The Bunsen Burner, though, was my favorite device. It would be so useful in my laboratory, being able to heat, sterilize, and combust substances! Now is truly an age of discovery!
